Kenneth Seymens is a Venture Partner at Vesalius Ventures, he currently resides in the United Arab Emirate of Dubai, where he is Managing Partner of MedicaIQ, a health innovation and technology advisory company. MedicaIQ provides a comprehensive array of go to market strategies and services, designed to position health care product and service companies targeting the MENA region. Mr Seymens established Medica IQ as part of his initiative to develop a globally recognized Health Innovation Hub for the Middle East. He has been living and working in the region for the past 6 years, and during this time has established strong relationships within the public and private health care sectors throughout the Middle East and Africa.
Mr. Seymens has 25 years of global executive level healthcare, technology, and health mergers and acquisitions experience. Mr. Seymens recently held the position of Chief Technology & Information Officer (CTIO) at King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He originally moved to the region while working with Humana as a Managing Director to open their Middle East and North Africa operations. Prior to moving abroad, he was President and Chief Operations Officer of one of the nation’s largest providers of wireless tele-health monitoring systems. Managing Director at Duff & Phelps, LLC a national middle-market investment banking and financial advisory, where he founded their health care and technology practice. He was Senior Vice President of Strategic Technology Development, and the first Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the American Hospital Association (AHA). He developed and became the World Wide Director of the Medical Informatics Group at Apple Computer.
Last year Mr. Seymens co-founded and co-produced of the first Health 2.0 conference in the entire Middle East (Dubai). Health 2.0 is an international conference series, showcasing health innovation companies. He also produces an annual Health Innovation and Investment Summit in Dubai.
Mr. Seymens received a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Northwestern Kellogg School of Management. He is President of the Northwestern Kellogg Regional affiliate of the United Arab Emirates, and is a member of the Kellogg School of Management’s Healthcare and Biotechnology Alumni Advisory Board.
